Doppelgänger is the first official release from Ferro Solo. It is also the account of just one of the several uncanny accidents that happened to my emotional, delusional and unwise alter-ego named Fernando, whose story I will try to tell in a musical feuilleton that will unfold as one song follows another, if you just bear with me of course. This cycle of tunes will not obey to any Aristotelian rule about unity of time, action and place. After all during the course of the last 30 years I've been told repeatedly that we're living in Post-postmodernist times and this must be own my way of adjusting to the zeitgeist, I guess.
This studio version of Doppelgänger belongs to the notorious Bunker Sessions, during which I've been recording a fair share of my songs with the help of some of my best friends. Somebody, perhaps Jean-Luc Godard (but I might be wrong here), used to say something along the lines of "you make films with the people you love": Well, I modestly think the same can be applied to music. When your friends also happen to be incredibly talented people such as those who are listed below, you just have to count your blessings and thank your luck. If this tune does not grate on the ear it's just because of them: The Fernandos, my patient, loving and dynamic band. Hear them for the first time on Doppelgänger, as they help me deliver my rough and naked tale in ways that I could have never dreamed of.
